Alien Invaders!!! Invasive Species of Connecticut

April 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Aliens are all around us. From fish to plants to worms, invasive plants and animals have entered the United States in many ways, some intentionally and some not. Join Judy Rondeau, Natural Resource Specialist with the Eastern Connecticut Conservation District and former Goodwin naturalist, for a survey of some of the alien species that now call the United States home. We will talk about how these species were brought here, impacts that they have on native species and the economy, and how to get rid of them. Then we will take a short stroll to identify some common invasive plant species and discuss methods for control.
