Members of The Last Green Valley and their guests are invited to a program conducted by Chief Ranger Bill Reid on bald eagles in The Last Green Valley. This two-part program will begin at the conference room of The Last Green Valley office in Danielson with a power point presentation on bald eagles in the region. Ranger Bill will provide updated information on numbers of eagles nesting in CT and results of the 2017 breeding season as well as information and results from the January 13th Midwinter Eagle Survey. Following the presentation participants are invited to drive to the Quinebaug Valley Trout Hatchery with Ranger Bill in hopes of seeing bald eagles.

Over the past decade bald eagle have been returning in greater numbers to the region. There are several nesting pairs of bald eagles within the 35 towns that comprise the National Heritage Corridors in addition to many eagles that migrate to our region during the cold winter months in search of open water and available food sources.
