Major General Israel Putnam: Hero of the American Revolution

On Thursday, September 13th at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 7 Providence Road (Route 6), Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Historical Society will sponsor a program in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of  Brooklyn’s Revolutionary War hero General Israel Putnam (1718-1790).
A Connecticut author of five previous history books, a retired professor of Albertus Magnus College, and the webmaster of websites on General Israel Putnam, Robert Ernest Hubbard will present an illustrated lecture on his 2017  book Major General Israel Putnam: Hero of the American Revolution, the first modern full-length biography of the multi-faceted individual who played a role in the important events of 18th century North America, including his exploits as a Ranger during the French and Indian War and his leadership of the Colonial militia at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
The program is free and complimentary refreshments will be served following the presentation when copies of Mr. Hubbard’s biography will be available for sale.
