Photography as a Timeless Witness of America’s Immigrant Heritage with Mario Quiroz-Servellón

The Jacob Edwards Library is pleased to present the work of Mario Quiroz-Servellón in a presentation titled Photography as a Timeless Witness of America’s Immigrant Heritage. Mario will focus on the role that photography has played shaping America’s collective memory and connect it to different historical periods The community is invited to participate in this program that is presented as part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Mario E. Quiroz-Servellón was born in San Salvador and relocated to the US in 1999. Since then, Mario has been exhibiting his images in many shows. His work has been part of the Breaking Borders, an exhibition of Salvadoran photographers at the Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States, in Washington DC and the National Museum of Anthropology in San Salvador. His work is part of the permanent collection of The Commonwealth Archives and Museum, as well as the Fitchburg Art Museum.

Mario holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a specialization in Documentary Photography from Lesley University and a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from Lesley University College of Art and Design.
