Local astronomer, Paul Pribula, will show you how to look for constellations as well as show you what you’re looking at as we try once more to have a stargazing evening. Given the vagaries of New England weather and the moon phases- it needs to b e a new moon- we have several dates (see below). A cloud cover or precipitation moves it to the next date. Stargazers should gather at Allanach-Wolf Preserve in Windham. Back up dates are April 1, 7:30pm-9:30pm, April 21 8:00pm-10:00pm, April 22, 28, 29. If we’re stymied with all of these, we’ll try again in the fall. Park on Back R. and walk approx. 1/4 mile to the paved loop by the garage. Bring a chair or blanket, binoculars and/or telescope and a flashlight for walking back.
Please, sign up in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and putting stargazing in the subject line and enter how many are coming or call the office 860-429-9023 Tuesday and Thursday noon-5 pm.
