Watercolor Duck Stamps

February 7 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

$12.00

Make it with Marcia: Watercolor Duck Stamps

Marcia Beal guides students through the process of making a watercolor painting of waterfowl to submit to the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program. Whether you plan on submitting your stamp design to the nationwide contest or not, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the waterfowl and wetlands that cover this country!

Eligible species for the 2019 Duck Stamp Program are:

Black-bellied Whistling-Duck
Emperor Goose
American Black Duck
Northern Shoveler
Bufflehead

Since 1934, the Migratory Bird Conservation Fund has received $800 million from the sale of “duck stamps“ sold to bird hunters, stamp collectors, and other motivated citizens. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Junior Duck Stamp Program has been connecting youth with nature through science and art for more than 20 years! This program encourages students from kindergarten to high school to explore their natural world, investigate biology and wildlife management principles while challenging them to share what they have learned with others by designing a piece of art to be used for the annual duck stamp.
