9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Norwich Heritage Trail walk

11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Norwich History Day at Norwichtown Green

Join members of The Last Green Valley on Sunday, August 28th when we travel to Norwich for a two-part opportunity including a morning hike followed by the Norwich History Day activities on the Norwichtown Green.

We’ll start our day at 9:00 am for a walk on the Norwich Heritage Walk from Brown Memorial Park at the Norwich waterfront, along the Yantic River and to Uncas Leap and back. The walk is an enjoyable 2.8 miles round trip and connects historic downtown Norwich to the remarkable Uncas Leap Heritage Area.

After the morning walk TLGV members are invited to attend the Norwich History Day activities at Norwichtown Green from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Norwich Historical Society is coordinating the event with assistance from the Norwich Bulletin. Norwichtown Green will be buzzing with activity with booths set up by 15 heritage based organization that comprise the Norwich Heritage Groups. We’ll have our TLGV information booth with TLGV Rangers, TLGV items for sale as well as the 2016 Walktober brochure. Other vendors include historical organizations, historic house museums, historic reenactors, colonial crafters, antique dealers, appraisers and more.

We hope you’ll make a day of it in Norwich. Join us for a morning walk and then head over to Norwichtown for Norwich History Day. Historically speaking, what a great way to spend the day in The Last Green Valley.

Contact Bill Reid for more information. RSVP is not required, but would be helpful for planning purposes.
