DATE CHANGE – Winter Solstice Hike with TLGV Chief Ranger Bill Reid

Winter Solstice Hike with TLGV Chief Ranger Bill Reid
NEW DATE – December 23, 10 a.m. to noon
Goodwin Forest and Conservation Center
23 Potter Road, Hampton, CT 06247

Join Chief Ranger Bill Reid for a Winter Solstice Hike on the first day of winter 2018. The group will meet at Goodwin Forest at 10 a.m. and hike one of the trails within the extensive trail network. Hikers will end up at the large pavilion near the parking lot for hot chocolate and snacks. Participants can bring a bag lunch too if they want and we’ll celebrate the first day of winter.

Depending on trail conditions and the weather the group will either hike along the western shore of Pine Acres Pond to Governor’s Island and back (approximately 3 miles round trip) or hike a loop trail through the Conservation Center property to the Air Line Trail, then back along the Natchaug Trail on the west side of Pine Acres Pond. Both hikes are beautiful and scenic.

Inclement weather cancels. Registration is required. For more information or to RSVP please contact Chief Ranger Bill Reid at 860-774-3300 or via e-mail bill@tlgv.org
