Artist Talk: John O’Donnell
September 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

John O’Donnell, Associate Professor of Printmaking at UConn, will give a talk about his artistic research in conjunction with the 2023 Studio Art Faculty Exhibition.
Professor O’Donnell is a printmaker and new media artist who utilizes appropriated images and objects relating to art history, popular media and consumer culture to create rough-hewn assemblages. This collage sensibility reflects temporary solutions and failed ambitions within a culture saturated with irony and perpetual innuendo. His practice as a new media artist addresses artifice, awkward transitions, humor, gender and media representation through video, installation and performance. O’Donnell has performed and mounted solo exhibitions at venues across the US.
