Hike and Tour of Laurel Wood, the Richard Kisten Conservation Easement in Charlton, MA

June 3 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a hike and tour of the 136 acres of land in Charlton’s northeast corner, abutting Oxford, Leicester and Spencer that Richard (Dick) Kisten has conserved with Opacum Land Trust and Common Ground Land Trust.

This is a large tract of forested and wet land that Dick has walked and taken care of for decades and which he manages for cord wood, wildlife and passive recreation by his neighbors.  Dick created this large tract of protected open space by purchasing pieces of land over the years, adjacent to his parents’ home in Oxford, where he now lives.  He loves this land and would appreciate the opportunity to share it with you.

Hiking will be mostly on level land with slight rolling terrain. Wear sturdy walking shoes and prepare for bugs and mosquitoes. This program is intended for members of Opacum Land Trust, Common Ground Land Trust, Charlton Heritage Preservation Trust and residents of Charlton. An RSVP is required and needed to provide directions to the program.

To RSVP, email Amy Connery or leave a voice mail at (508) 347-9144. Be sure to provide your name, the name(s) of anyone who will attend with you and how we can contact you. There will be no weather alternative date for the program – if cancelled, we will notify RSVPs and post an announcement on our voicemail box (508) 347-9144.
