National Shapewear Day!

The Mill Museum’s Curator, Chelsey Knyff, will give a Zoom presentation on shapewear, “Unlacing the Past: Corset History and Basic Construction,” at 7 p.m. See how the corset developed and changed from the 17th to the early 20th century: $15 per screen. Register and pay at millmuseum.org

The exhibition: “Unlacing the Corset, Unleashing the Vote,” features women’s lives and fashions through the past century since women got the vote in 1920 with the passage of the 19th Amendment. This summer Children, age 18 and under, and one Adult may have free admission to the museum until September 5 because the Mill Museum is participating in the state’s Connecticut Summer at the Museum – a new state program created in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic that allows Connecticut children to receive free admission at more than 90 museums across Connecticut during the 2021 summer months. 860-456-2178 firstname.lastname@example.org
