Nature Writing Workshop

August 24 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Designed for those who want to explore the creative connections between nature and writing. We’ll read some short texts that capture natural phenomena wonderfully. Then we’ll take a guided forest walk with writing prompts, stopping frequently to note our observations. We’ll have some private writing time to shape these notes, and we’ll conclude with time for anyone who wishes to share their work aloud with the group. Bring a notebook and writing tool that you can carry comfortably and make notes with as we walk. Ideal for high school students through seniors.
About the facilitator: V. Penelope Pelizzon’s books include Whose Flesh Is Flame, Whose Bone Is Time (Waywiser, 2014) and Nostos (Ohio University Press, 2000), which won the Poetry Society of America’s Norma Farber First Book Award.

Programs are free unless otherwise noted. Donations are encouraged.
Pre-registration is not required unless otherwise noted.
