February 29 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until March 28, 2020

Otis Library will host a unique educational and artistic opportunity for the community by creating a puppet show based on the story of Prudence Crandall’s School. Dan Butterworth of Butterworth Productions, an award-winning creator of custom puppet shows, will work with teen volunteers and 10 students in 2nd – 5th grade over 8 work sessions to create props and characters for the show. These sessions will take place at Otis Library on Saturdays in February and March 2020, from 12pm-2:30pm and will culminate in a public performance at Otis Library on Saturday, April 25, that will celebrate the heroic actions of both Prudence Crandall and her students, including Norwich natives Sarah and Mary Harris. For more information or to register a child or teen, please contact Julie Menders at 860-889-2365 x128.
