Soaring Over the Last Green Valley: The Return of the Bald Eagles

June 13 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Community Room

With abundant rivers, lakes and ponds, The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor has the perfect habitat for bald eagles – our national symbol. Over the past decade, eagles have been returning to the region and nesting along our rivers and lakes. This program tells the history of bald eagles in the country and describes the unique characteristics of these amazing birds. Bill Reid, Chief Ranger of The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor, will present the program. Information will be provided on The Last Green Valley’s role in assisting the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection with monitoring bald eagle nests and their statewide midwinter eagle survey.
