The wait is over! Opening day for strawberry picking is Monday, June 7th. Open 8 am to noon weekdays and Saturday, and 6-8 pm on Monday AND Thursday. Closed Sundays. Check daily before coming as we have random days when we close for ripening. We wanted to give you some updates on how the season will run this year:
The farm stand will be moving out to the strawberry field again, as it was such a success last year! Please park along the fence near the strawberry fields and jump into line to be guided out to the strawberries by one of our wonderful staff members. We will have our very own strawberry ice cream, homemade apple cider donuts, and many other new and exciting products available to purchase in the tent during check out.
In accordance with the CDC and Connecticut state guidelines, patrons will not be required to wear masks. That being said, we want our customers to proceed with what they feel is best for them. Whether you choose to wear one or do not, it is your right to make that choice. We WILL NOT be asking patrons to disclose their vaccination status and we request our patrons respect the personal and private health choices of other patrons and staff. Some of our staff will choose to continue to wear a mask and some will not. Some of our patrons will choose to wear a mask and some will not. We understand that everyone has deep beliefs in these decisions and we kindly request that you respect both ours and our patrons’ decisions on this matter and avoid the conversation in and around the farm stand. If you would prefer our staff members wear a mask while helping you, please don’t hesitate to ask. We will all have them handy and be more than happy to put one on for your comfort. We do ask that while at the orchard, please be mindful of other patrons’ personal space as their beliefs might not be the same as your own. Let us all enjoy the farm, enjoy picking your own strawberries to take home, and enjoy the positive atmosphere of the farm.
A friendly reminder, no animals will be allowed on orchard property unless they are ADA certified. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. If you or your family are feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of Covid-19, please stay home. Staff will be easily recognizable in tie dye staff shirts. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to ask. Looking forward to opening day! See you soon, Patty for Buell’s Orchard
