The Jim Lafayette Memorial Series of Writers of Science Fiction and Fantasy: Zac Topping

July 25 @ 6:00 pm

Live and on Zoom, Monday, July 25, 6pm, Community Room

The Jim Lafayette Memorial Series of Writers of Science Fiction and Fantasy, hosted by Otis Library, will welcome author Zac Topping in the Community Room. Now in its 14th year, this program honors the memory of local science fiction and fantasy fan and writer Jim Lafayette with appearances by authors of the genre. Norwich native Faye Ringel, Ph.D., retired Professor of Humanities at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, will introduce the author. Zac will discuss his new novel Wake of War. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing after the program. This program will be presented live and over Zoom.

Zac Topping grew up in Eastern Connecticut where he discovered a passion for writing early in life. He is a veteran of the United States Army and has served two tours in Iraq. He currently works as a career firefighter for the City of Norwich.  Wake of War, his first novel, is a timely account of the lengths those with power will go to preserve it, and the determination of those they exploit to destroy everything in the name of freedom anew.

Registration is not required for this free program. If you would like to attend via Zoom, please sign up on the website calendar, or call Julie at 860-889-2365, ext. 128.
