WWII Naval Pilots Memorial Ceremony

The Norwich Area Veterans Council will conduct their Annual Commemoration ceremony for United States Navy Pilots, Ensign Merle Longnecker and Ensign George Kraus who were killed in a tragic training crash over Norwich on Oct. 19th, 1944.
The Program will start at 2PM, Sunday October 19, 2025, at the Veterans Memorial site in front of the Preston Public Library, 389 Rt. 2, Preston, Ct. The rain date will be Sunday October 26th at 2PM.
Music for the program will be provided by Tom Callinan, Connecticut’s first troubadour.
