Abolitionists, People of Color and the Civil War: A Walk Through the Old Willimantic Cemetery

 10/10/2021 @ 1:00 pm

Cemeteries have stories to tell. The Old Willimantic Cemetery was founded in the early 1800s and remained in use well into the 1900s. One of the stories it tells is of Willimantic’s 19th-century African American community, of abolitionists and of Civil War soldiers, both white and Black. Meet at the middle cemetery entrance, across the street from Stop & Shop. Sponsored by Windham Textile and History Museum, millmuseum.org
