Cady-Copp Anniversary Walk

 10/08/2022 @ 10:00 am

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of both the Killingly and Putnam Historical Societies, our walk is a historical walk dating back to the 1730s. The history of the commons on Rt. 21 highlighting where men from the area trained for the Revolutionary War and when the First Congregational Church of Putnam was established will be another topic of discussion. Then the walk will continue to the Cady-Copp Cottage and you will learn about Manasseh Cutler, who was tutored there, later on went to Ohio and was influential in the passage of the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 and wrote the section prohibiting slavery. Sponsored by the Killingly Historical and Genealogical Society, killinglyhistorical.org & Aspinock Historical Society of Putnam, putnamaspinockhistsoc.com
