Chalking to Commemorate Victims

 3/27/2021 @ 11:00 am

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was a tragic incident in New York City in March 1911. Each year the 146 victims are remembered with chalk memorials all around the city on the sidewalk in front of the buildings where they lived. This year the Mill Museum is holding a chalk memorial event in Willimantic. Saturday, March 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each participant will learn the story and receive a name to commemorate in chalk on the sidewalk. We will honor these victims and all who have needlessly died in industrial accidents. Join us at the Mill Museum, 411 Main Street, Willimantic. Just come by. Chalk provided. Dress warm. Masks and distancing required. Rain date is Sunday. Hosted by the Mill Museum.
