TLGV Night Sky Adventure: Earth Hour at Camp Laurel

 3/25/2023 @ 7:30 pm

We’re celebrating Earth Hour! We’ll start with a talk about light pollution before a moonlit trek to understand how our human eyes are well-suited for the night sky. You’ll see the glow of light pollution in the distance and learn how you probably don’t need all those lights on at night after all. After the hike we’ll have a campfire and cocoa and spend some time looking at the constellations. There are some benches around the fire ring, but you’ll want a sit-upon or bring your own chairs. Also please bring your own travel mug for the cocoa. You can leave them at the campfire before the hike. In case of inclement weather there will be an alternate program indoors. The hike is considered difficult because of darkness. It would be an easy hike in the day. Registration Required. To register please email fran@tlgv.org or call 860-774-3300. Hosted by The Last Green Valley and Girl Scouts of CT.
