Exploring the Understory of Nightingale Woods

Join local historian Donna Dufresne on a walk through the storied past of the Higginbotham homestead, mills, and Randall/Higginbotham Cemetery. Learn how to read the forest landscape for clues about the historical use of the land in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the families who lived in the Mashamoquet Uplands along Nightingale Brook including people of African and Native American descent. Registration required. Limited to 30 guests. Hiking boots or sturdy waterproof shoes recommended for rocky and sometimes muddy trails. Sponsored by Wyndham Land Trust, wyndhamlandtrust.org
