Quinebaug River Paddle

 10/05/2022 @ 10:00 am

Join TLGV Staff Members Bill Reid and Lyann Graff for an enjoyable paddle on the Quinebaug River. We’ll be launching in Holland at Holland Pond (also known as Lake Siog) and paddle 4.6 miles to East Brimfield Lake. This stretch of the Quinebaug River is within the East Brimfield Lake Project of the US Army Corps of Engineers and is called the Quinebaug River Canoe Trail. It was the first water trail designated by the Department of Interior as a National Recreation Trail and Watchable Wildlife Area. This segment of the river has little current, extensive wildlife habitat, three picnic landings and no portages. Paddlers should plan for at least a three-hour outing. Participants must provide their own kayak or canoe and wearing a PFD (personal flotation device) is required. For more information contact Bill at 860-774-3300 or email bill@tlgv.org. Reservation is required and open to the first 20 boats. Sponsored by The Last Green Valley, thelastgreenvalley.org
