TLGV Acorn Adventure: Hoo’s in the Woods?

Join TLGV and Horizon Wings Raptor Rehabilitation for a fun afternoon learning about (and visiting with) owls! The Horizon Wings’ team will share with us many of the owls that are ambassador birds, too injured to return to the wild, but available for educational programs. Following our visit with the owls, we’ll learn more about the interesting biology of these amazing raptors and have the chance to dissect an owl pellet. Inside we’ll discover and identify the tiny bones from the rodents eaten by an owl. These pellets are disinfected and available for educational purposes. Registration is not required, but helpful to make sure we have enough materials on hand for the kids to enjoy and take home.
