Know what to expect of the terrain, stay hydrated, and be sure to let someone know where you are headed and when you expect to return. Roads were not designed for bicycle touring and trails can be tricky. Your safety depends on you. Use of these routes and locations are at your own risk. Be alert, ride defensively and cautiously. When riding on roads, obey traffic signals, use hand signals, never ride against traffic, and yield to pedestrians. Remember that a cyclist has all the rights and duties of a driver of a motor vehicle.
