3rd Thursday Street Fest Kick-Off

Downtown Willimantic will once again come alive with music, food, art, and community spirit as the 2026 season of the ever-popular 3rd Thursday Street Fests officially kicks offon Thursday, May 21, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM along Main Street.
Presented by Willimantic Renaissance, Inc., the first Street Fest of the season promises an unforgettable evening featuring over 125 vendors, Main Street businesses, local nonprofits, artists, crafters, performers, and food vendors transforming downtown into one giant community celebration.
Festivalgoers can explore five entertainment districts throughout downtown — Way Up Town, UpTown, MidTown, DownTown, and Way DownTown — each packed with unique performances and attractions.
This year’s May Street Fest entertainment lineup includes:

• Litvar
• EASTCONN ACT School Student Dancers
• Tom ‘The Suit’ Forst Band
• Alejandro Magno’s Mariachi Band
• Dr. G & The Believers
• Windham High School Band
• Italizbeth & Carlos
• i98.3 Stage featuring Keith C. Rice
• And more surprises throughout the evening
Families can also enjoy a bounce house and the Children’s Entrepreneurial Market, featuring 25 aspiring young community entrepreneurs showcasing and selling their creations and products.
Adults can stop by the Beer Garden, featuring great brews including a special beer from Willimantic Brewing Company created just for the festivities.
“3rd Thursday Street Fest has become one of eastern Connecticut’s most anticipated community traditions,” organizers said. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate local culture, support small businesses, enjoy incredible entertainment, and experience the energy and creativity that make downtown Willimantic so special.”
Attendees can expect eclectic food offerings, handmade goods from talented artisans and crafters, engaging nonprofits, live performances around every corner, and an electric atmosphere that highlights the heart of the Thread City community.
