Perseids Party Campout - Registration is Now Closed
Planning is underway for the 2025 Perseids Party Campout August 15-17 at Pachaug State Forest. Join TLGV, Friends of Pachaug and CT DEEP's No Child Left Inside program for a weekend of Night Sky Adventures, hiking, fishing, crafts, campfires and much more! As details are confirmed we will add to the general schedule.
Camping is free at the Youth Camping Area and available on a first come, first served basis. If you have an RV, please reserve a site at the Mt. Misery Campground. Programs will be held in both the youth camping area and the field adjacent to the Mt. Misery Campground. They are walking distance from one another. If you reserve a spot, please let us know that you are coming by using the form below or emailing Fran@tlgv.org
PLEASE NOTE: This is an all ages event. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and adults must be present on site with youth.

Friday, Aug. 15
- 4-5 pm: Camp games – ie when the west wind blows – an ice breaker
- 7 pm: - Drumming circle – kids can try their hands at drumming

- 1:00 am: Astronomy: Perseid meteor showers begin in earnest
- 3:00 am: Â Astronomy:View Saturn - see the underside of its rings; Check out the Andromeda Galaxy
- 4:00 am: Astronomy: View the Moon and explore its features
- 9:00 am: Create your Letterboxing kit using a wood block (for all ages) Limit 30 people
- 9:00Â am: Secrets of the Skulls
- 9:00 am: Pocket Solar System.
- 10:00 am: Create your Letterboxing kit and carve your own stamp (ages 10 and above) limit 15 people
- 10:30 am - 12:30 pm: All About Owls
- 11:00 am: Create your Letterboxing kit using a wood block (for all ages) Limit 30 people
- 11:30 am: Mission to Mars STEM Activities

- 11 AM: Â Badge Ceremony
- NOON: Pack up
Families are welcome to stay at Pachaug all day, but must pack up their sites in the afternoon. Pachaug State Forest closes at dusk to anyone who is not camping.
