Biking in The Last Green Valley

Here in The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor, our 35 towns in eastern CT and south central MA offer many opportunities to combine a love of cycling with sight-seeing.

Pedaling offers great exercise plus a different view of The Last Green Valley.

SAFETY

Be sure your bike is in working order and you are wearing proper attire, including a helmet and highly visible clothing. Know what to expect of the terrain, stay hydrated, and be sure to let someone know where you are headed and when you expect to return.

Roads were not designed for bicycle touring and trails can be tricky. Be alert, ride defensively and cautiously. When riding on roads, obey traffic signals, use hand signals, never ride against traffic, and yield to pedestrians. Remember that a cyclist has all the rights and duties of a driver of a motor vehicle. Your safety depends on you and you ride at your own risk.
