Book Launch with Author Dayne Rugh

Local author and historian Dayne Rugh will discuss his new book John Durkee: The Forgotten Story of Connecticut’s Bold Man from Bean Hill.

It tells the story of a long-forgotten Colonel from Norwich who served in the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. Interwoven throughout Colonel Durkee’s story are stories of soldiers who fought under his command, including several previously forgotten and unknown Black and Native American patriots who forged their own legacies during the Revolution.
