Visit the James L. Goodwin Conservation Center, where a guided hike will depart for Governor’s Island, a unique part of the Goodwin State Forest. The hike will be over 3 miles at a relaxed pace. it is also common to see deer on the trails leading to Governor’s Island, and the outlook there provides a great view of Pine Acres Pond. Be sure to bring water, a snack, and appropriate hiking footwear. There will be roots, rocks, uneven terrain and some mild hills. All are welcome. Heavy rain will postpone. Email deep.goodwin@ct.gov to register, or if you have any questions.
