|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Sunday, repeating until August 11, 2024

Spring Prudence Crandall Museum
The Prudence Crandall Museum will host a series of mindfulness programs to explore deeper source connections between relevant aspects of the Canterbury School story and the individual lives of participants through breathwork techniques and introspective readings of primary sources.  Join wellness educator Robin Thompson, RN, from East and West of the River Wellness, and museum curator Joanie DiMartino as we gather together in the museum for an eight-week summer series of mindfulness sessions inspired by themes of peace, community, strength, and more related to the 1830s events at the Canterbury Female Boarding School.
Robin Thompson, RN, has spent over 35 years in the nursing field, including serving as director of an Integrated Medicine Department and Employee Wellness program at a community hospital.  She has studied at Duke Integrative Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and her certifications include Holistic Stress Management, Mind Body Medicine, and Integrative Health Coaching.  Thompson brings extensive practices from the UMASS Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society in Worchester, MA.
