New England Botanic Garden: Plant Slime
November 9 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Learn about the amazing adaptations of carnivorous plants and explore how these plants use sticky, slimy, and even smelly techniques to meet their needs for survival. Use these plants as inspiration as we mix up our own plant-inspired slime recipes. Practice measuring and following step-by-step instructions and get messy in this hands-on workshop. Each child participant will create one plant-inspired batch of slime complete with a snack perfect for a carnivorous plant and a second batch in a color and scent of their choosing. Our slime recipe uses non-toxic ingredients including liquid glue, baking soda, contact solution, food coloring, glitter, and essential oils. Great for kids ages 6 to 12.
