Willimantic Blues Fest

Willimantic Renaissance, Inc. presents the 2026 Willimantic Winter Blues Festival on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Willimantic Elks Lodge #1311(198 Pleasant Street, Willimantic, CT).

Doors open at 6:00 PM, and music begins at 7:00 PM for an unforgettable evening of live blues, dancing, door prizes, raffles, and a cash bar — all in support of the 2026 season of Willimantic’s beloved 3rd Thursday Street Festival!

Now entering its 23rd season, 3rd Thursday Street Fest brings thousands of visitors to Main Street, Willimantic each summer for free live music, local artists and performers, family-friendly activities, and diverse cultural programming. Proceeds from Winter Blues Fest play a critical role in making the 2026 street fest summer season possible.

Two Powerhouse Acts

The evening features two dynamic blues and roots acts:

Otis & The Hurricanes (7:00–8:00 PM)

A high-energy ensemble rooted in the true spirit of American Rock ’n’ Roll, Otis & The Hurricanes draw inspiration from legends such as Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Little Feat, The Funky Meters, Alan Toussaint, Delbert McClinton, and Chuck Berry. Known for their infectious groove and feel-good energy, this veteran group guarantees a dance floor that stays moving.

The Brandt Taylor Band (8:30–9:30 PM)

Led by Connecticut-based guitarist, vocalist, composer, and bandleader Brandt Taylor, The Brandt Taylor Band has become a powerful presence on the regional blues circuit. Recent appearances include performances at Music Lady Café, the 5th Annual Mike Crandall Blues Festival, a New Year’s showcase at the Cajun Boil in Torrington, and co-bill performances at The River Room in Willimantic. In 2025, Taylor was also featured at the Manchester Jazz Festival, underscoring his growing reputation as a compelling live performer.
