Women’s Creativity Takes Center Stage at Jacob Edwards Library

SOUTHBRIDGE, MA – Local artists from the Southbridge community will attend a Meet & Greet on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 6:30-7:30pm at the Jacob Edwards Library in Southbridge, MA. This month’s art show, Women’s Handiwork & Art is in observance of Women’s History Month.
The Women’s Handiwork & Art Show features an array of media, including oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting. In addition to artworks on canvas and paper, photography, knitting, origami and quilting will also be on display.
“Women have always expressed their creativity by embellishing practical items. Each stitch tells a story of the strong women of the past, of the present, and of the future,” artist D.J. Bessette said.
The multi-generational artists in the show hail from the Massachusetts communities of Southbridge, Sturbridge, Holland, Brookfield, Rutland, Spencer, Fiskdale, Charlton, and Woodstock, Connecticut.
