THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO ONGOING CONSTRUCTION WORK AT THE CHURCH.
Visit the historic Gothic style Grace Episcopal Church overlooking the village of Yantic, see the old photos, and learn how its communicants have been central to life in this tiny settlement since 1851. Listen to the magnificent pipe organ and hear the stories of the mill workers, farmers, and movers-and-shakers of Norwich who have worshipped here for nearly two centuries. Afterward, take a stroll through the little village with Norwich City Historian Dale Plummer. Learn how the old woolen mill is being repurposed in the 21st century. See Volunteer Engine Company Number 1, founded in 1847, and walk the old stone bridge built in 1909 for a visit by President William Howard Taft. Reservations requested but not required by calling 860-886-0762. Sponsored by Grace Episcopal Church Yantic.
