Clara Barton and the Salem Witch Trials

 10/19/2024 @ 1:00 pm

Learn about the Barton family ties to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. How did Clara’s ancestor, Sarah Cloyce, survive the hysteria? Why did Samuel Barton serve as a witness in the trial of Elizabeth Proctor? Why did Samuel Barton move to Oxford in 1716? A presentation will answer these questions and explain Clara Barton’s connection to the witch trials. A tour of the Clara Barton Birthplace will be given after the presentation. This event is free, but donations are welcome. Sponsored by Clara Barton Birthplace Museum, clarabartonbirthplace.org
