Join the Eastern Connecticut State University Mycology Club for a slow-paced mushroom and nature walk exploring the fungal life of the fall forest. We will look for mushrooms, lichens, decomposers, plant-fungal relationships, and other seasonal signs of forest ecology. This walk is designed for curious beginners, students, families, and naturalists. No experience is required. Participants will learn how to observe mushrooms, recognize major fungal groups, and understand the ecological roles fungi play in decomposition, soil health, plant partnerships, and forest succession. This is an educational nature walk, not a foraging event. We will focus on observation, ecology, and responsible field practice.
