We invite you to join us in the backyard for a 45 minute boundary walk around our 14-acre property, expertly led by our docent. Throughout the walk, our docent will regale us with stories about the farm established by Nathaniel Huntington by 1723 and its evolution over the years since then. Our boundary walk will take us along the historic farm lane, formerly known as Pinch Gut Road, and past an old pond that once served as a source of ice for early refrigeration purposes. As we inspect our boundaries, we will also have the opportunity to visit the flourishing three-year-old American Chestnut Tree grove. This will take us across Rosilda’s Crossing and back to the Homestead. The property has a rich and varied history, having originated as a 300-acre gift from Nathaniel’s father, Joseph Huntington, a notable early Windham settler. Please note that this event will only be canceled for heavy rain. We look forward to welcoming you to our open house and sharing the unique history and natural beauty of our property.
