Join Mr. & Mrs. Walktober 2023 (and retired US National Park Service Rangers) Bob & Jen Panko on their annual Walktober hike up Mt. Misery. This is a moderate two mile hike. The Panko’s will discuss the history of the area as well as the changes to the flora and fauna over the past decade. Join the Pumpkin Painting event at Chapman Field afterward. Moderate, Restrooms Nearby; Leashed pets welcome. From downtown Voluntown take State Route 49 North 0.75 miles to Pachaug State Forest Headquarters Road at the Smokey Bear sign. Follow Headquarters Road 0.8 miles to the CCC Statue. Turn left onto Cutoff Road and continue 0.2 miles to Chapman Field.
