Have you ever wanted to hike an entire trail in Connecticut but were reluctant to do it alone? Instead join Friends of Pachaug Forest as we lead you along the entire Nehantic Trail in beautiful Pachaug State Forest. This is the second hike of a 3 hike series in 2024 to complete the entire 14 mile trail (we did the first hike on Trails Day, June 1). This will be the longest hike of the series, a moderate 5.5 mile trek on trails and some roadways. We will start at the southern end of the Nehantic at Green Falls Pond and will end this day at the Beachdale Pond overlook on Headquarters Rd. near the Smokey Bear sign on Rt. 49. Arrive at Green Falls Pond Swimming Area Parking by 9 am to allow time to shuttle vehicles to the end of the one way hike before we start hiking.
