The traditions of Guy Fawkes Night traveled to New England with the Colonists where it evolved and found new pariahs to burn, including Norwich’s own Benedict Arnold. Drawing on the written record of these traditions, in this lecture Slater Memorial Museum’s Education Coordinator Amanda Flynn Rumney will explore how Guy Fawkes’ infamy shaped the mischievous autumnal festivities of Norwich and New London.
