Walk The Maritime History of Norwich Through The Civil War

 10/22/2024 @ 10:00 am

Turn the clock back to the time of the “War of The Slave Holders’ Rebellion” and speak with Commodore Joseph Lanman, a native of Norwich, and his wife Ann Cornelia. This walking tour will cover Norwich’s maritime history, from the first English settlers and Mohegans, through the Revolutionary War, and on into the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Learn how a woman coped in a male-dominated society while her husband was on faraway stations and some little known historical oddities about Norwich and the sea.
