The 4.7 miles of paddling to Robert Manship Park in Canterbury is somewhat less challenging than the miles above the hatchery, but there are several stretches of white water to paddle carefully. Generally, the river is wide, undeveloped, tree-lined and very beautiful! Watch for the Route 14 bridge as you near Robert Manship Park. As you approach the take-out on river right, stay close to the right bank and arrange your group in a line. The broad current can make this a tricky landing. Have the first paddlers ashore catch subsequent boats as they pull in. No fee.
