West Thompson Lake offers a great variety of wildlife & activity in 1,125 forested acres, 80 acres of open grasslands & 200 acre lake. Camping (horseshoes, basketball courts, private sites, dump station, firewood, handicap toilet/shower, interpretive programs, some water & electricity), hiking (17+ miles of trails) and water (paddle the lake & Quinebaug River National Recreation Water Trail, boat launch, fishing – trout stocked & freshwater fish aplenty) are popular. Disc golf, picnic shelters, hunting, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing & snowshoeing. Some fees during camping season.
