TLGV Offers America 250 Grants
The Last Green Valley Inc. (TLGV), is pleased to announce a new round of grants to fund America 250 efforts in the National Heritage Corridor. The grants are designed to assist non-profits and municipalities in commemorating the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding throughout 2026 and in the years following.
“Our rich history is a significant reason this region is one of the oldest national heritage areas in the country,” said Lois Bruinooge, TLGV’s Executive Director. “From the first human inhabitants, to colonists, the early days of the nation, the industrial revolution and into today, we have been home to trailblazers who have shaped the American story.”
This is the third year TLGV has offered grants to support America 250 planning. Grants can range from $500 to $2,000 and must be matched 1:1 by cash or in-kind contributions. Proposals do not need to focus solely on people, places or events related to our nation’s founding in 1776 or the events of the American Revolution. Rather, we encourage proposals that explore the full range of history in The Last Green Valley, including projects that document people, places and events today for the benefit of future generations.
Application details can be found here. Applications must be emailed, postmarked or hand-delivered by 4 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Emails may be sent to Lois@tlgv.org. Mail or hand delivered applications should be delivered to The Last Green Valley, 203B Main St., Danielson CT 06239. TLGV will confirm receipt of your application within 2-3 business days. Successful applicants will be notified in February and will be required to complete all contract paperwork promptly.
