Acorn Adventure: Bobcat Tracks and More with Wyndham Land Trust!
The Last Green Valley’s Acorn Adventure: Bobcat Tracks and More with Wyndham Land Trust
Children and their families are invited to join The Last Green Valley as we team up with Wyndham Land Trust to learn about Bobcats in The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor and search for the tracks they and other animals leave at Lyon Preserve. The Acorn Adventure will be held 10 a.m. Feb. 17 at Lyon Preserve in Pomfret, which is off Route 101. The preserve has parking and a fairly flat trail, good for strollers and little legs. We’ll explore animal trails and walk down to the pond on the property and see if bobcats, turkeys, cottontail rabbits, minks or other creatures have been visiting. Kids will also take home some materials they can use to explore more with their families and learn more about animal tracking.
Acorn Adventures are free to families thanks to the generous sponsorship of Putnam Bank.
The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor is the last stretch of dark night sky in the coastal sprawl between Boston and Washington, D.C. The Last Green Valley, Inc. works for you in the National Heritage Corridor. Together we can care for it, enjoy it and pass it on!
