The Center for Hope in Southbridge will be holding a cleanup on Saturday, April 30, starting at 8:30 am (rain date 5/1). The Putnam Business Association will be holding its annual downtown cleanup on Saturday, April 30, from 8:45 am – noon. Meet at Rotary Park on Kennedy Drive. The Town of Sterling, with help from Boy Scout Troup 36, will be doing a cleanup on Saturday, April 30, starting at 10 am. Volunteers will remove tires that were dumped along the Rails to Trails, which is part of the Moosup Valley State Park Trail, off of Route 14 in Sterling. Meet across the street from 439 Sterling Road at 10 am. After the tire collection, volunteers will be provided with pizza and beverages. Norwich Free Academy’s Marine & Environmental Science students will be sprucing up their neighborhood weekly during May. Students from NFA will pick up trash on the way to and from Howard Brown Park and will earn a pizza party for their work.
