Dark Sky Preservation Series, Part II: Lights, Solutions, Action
Join TLGV’s Lead Night Sky Rangers at 7 pm, March 18, Mansfield Elementary School, 134 Warrenville Rd., Mansfield, CT for a field trip session to see what works and what doesn’t when it comes to reducing light pollution and creating a safe and effective lighting plan. We’ll start at the elementary school where we will look at three different types of lighting and then move to the library where we will see several other types of lighting. The field trip ends at Joshua’s Trust’s Atwood Farm headquarters. Participants will drive themselves. Detailed directions will be shared at the meeting location. Co-sponsored by Mansfield Public Library, Windham Garden Club and Joshua’s Trust.
Stay tuned for Dark Sky Preservation Part III: Panel Discussion, 6 pm, April 16, Mansfield Public Library, 54 Warrenville Rd., Mansfield, CT. A panel of municipal leaders and others will explain how good lighting can be a community benefit.
