Join Ranger Marcy for a 2nd Saturday Stroll
Walk the Air Line Trail to Joshua’s Trust’s Two Sisters Tract on Sept. 13 from 9-11 am, starting from Rt. 6 & Chewink Rd., Chaplin, CT. The preserve, donated by two sisters, Elaine Mrosek and Josephine Krikorian, in 2001, consists of two parcels, one 8-acre parcel and one 32-acre, split by the Air Line State Park Trail.
The Two Sisters Tract is hilly and does not offer much shade, so we will enjoy the preserve from the Air Line Trail without encountering any steepness. Leashed dogs are welcome. This is a peaceful area located just off a busy area and the well-traveled Rt. 6. Along the way we will learn why conservation organizations acquire land adjacent to other conserved spaces to increase open space and keep The Last Green Valley green. Second Saturday Strolls are open to anyone who likes to take it slow and enjoy the sights along the trail. All Second Saturday Strolls will gather at 8:45 am, start walking at 9 am and be over by 11 a.m. Registration required by emailing dawleymarcy@yahoo.com
