Join Us in January to Celebrate the Bald Eagle

We have a month of outdoor adventures planned to view bald eagles. All programs require registration, masks must be worn and participation is limited for each event to ensure safe social distancing. Specific locations will be given upon registration.

We have chosen locations where we have been successful spotting bald eagles in the past, however, these are wild birds and there is no guarantee.

Bald Eagle Hike: 10 am – noon, Jan. 16 and 23, Plainfield, CT

Join Chief Ranger Bill Reid on a ramble in Plainfield where we traditionally spot bald eagles. While on the walk, Bill will update participants on the numbers of eagles nesting in The Last Green Valley and results of the 2020 breeding season. This is a mostly flat-terrain walk on rough surfaces. Plan for an hour or more depending on what we see. Bring binoculars or a spotting scope if you have them. Please register by calling 860-774-3300 or emailing fran@tlgv.org

Acorn Adventures – Bald Eagles, Big Eyes and Big Nests: 10 am – noon, Jan. 17 and 24, Woodstock, CT

Children and their families are invited to join Chief Ranger Bill Reid to experience just how long a bald eagle’s wings are, how huge their eyes are and how big their nests are. The group will also search for eagles at this popular spot for these incredible birds of prey. Bring binoculars or a spotting scope if you have them. Please register by calling 860-774-3300 or emailing fran@tlgv.org
